Owner/Head Trainer

Andrea Koch

Andrea was very fortunate to grow up surrounded by horses. She started taking formal lessons at the age of 5. When she was 8, she saw a horse jumping and thought it was the coolest thing, so switched from general western riding lessons to English lessons and started jumping. As she grew up, Andrea started her time in the horse business as a working student for Cassandra Keith of 5 Star Equestrian, where she learned a lot about horse nutrition, care, and teaching beginner students. She worked for lessons where she refined her jumping skills. As Cassandra moved on from the facility, Andrea got a horse of her own and worked with a trainer on starting her horse. This is also when Andrea started competing in gymkhana and barrel racing on another horse. Andrea was constantly receiving reserve and high point placings. A few years later, another hunter/jumper trainer came through and Andrea really started her teaching career here. She was an assistant trainer as well as barn manager. Along with her teaching and manager job, she brought in two new horses to start on her own. One is now successfully competing in jumpers and one successfully competing in gymkhana as well as loves cattle work.Andrea has continued her training with client horses and project horses of her own. Andrea’s main goal is to create well educated and willing equine partners, and strong, functional, confident riders.
Andrea attended Pacific Coast Farrier School in August of 2022 to continue expanding her equine education. Hoofcare plays such a vital role in horses well being, "No hoof, no horse." Andrea loves to share her equine knowledge with others and help create well rounded equestrians.

While Andrea has always had a special connection with animals, as she's gotten older, she has seen how truly beneficial animals can be to helping those through tough times, instilling confidence in people and the overall calming presence they bring and wants to share that with others!

When she is not teaching lessons, training or shoeing horses, Andrea is in school, working on her Psychology degree!

"I think many people want intimate moments with their horses ALL the time which means they use the horse to get what they want. I provide intimate moments when the horse needs it, and leadership when the horse needs it."
